Oregon TRIO Association – 2015 Conference

Oregon TRIO (and all TRIO funded programs) are housed under the National Education act and are intended as college support for first generation and low income students.  I see TRIO as more active in middle and high schools, but programs such as PCC’s ROOTS program provide cohort-based support for students entering community college.  This type of programming is potentially a good fit for ex-offenders and most of them are low income, first generation college, so I submitted a proposal and was accepted to speak at this year’s conference.  For all you TRIO people, feel free to ignore the unnecessary background 🙂
